Good morning! As promised, an update on the progress of our new Samosa business. As you will remember from the last post, we have decided to launch an entirely new online business dealing in the manufacturing of a savory called a samosa. This is an overview of the main strategies and technologies we have decided upon.   1. Our target market: Being manufacturers of our own product, our initial thought had been to supply the wholesale and retail trade. We decided against this strategy based on the following considerations: a) Margins on this product are quite slim and adding additional steps to the distribution channel, would of necessity mean the end user would be paying more.  b) We wanted to maintain control of the quality of the product. In supplying in bulk to wholesaler and retailers we would be handing over the final "presentation" of our samosa to people whose skill levels in frying and general hygienic handling of foods is unknown.   Thi...

                                       The reinvention of our business  Covid 19 is a terrible thing-many lives have been lost, many businesses have shut and millions have lost their jobs. My wife and I are two 50 something year-olds who have run our own retail outlets for years. With the advent of the pandemic came a total shutdown of our economy as a countrywide lock-down came into effect.  The result is that both our stores have closed and all our staff were laid off. After months of dithering, we are finally determined to engage on a new course. We intend manufacturing a savory delicacy called a samoosa which we will market and distribute by means off a website and other online tools.  So, with very little fanfare, we are about to start this venture with a very limited budget, two vehicles and lots of optimism!
