Good morning! As promised, an update on the progress of our new Samosa business. As you will remember from the last post, we have decided to launch an entirely new online business dealing in the manufacturing of a savory called a samosa. This is an overview of the main strategies and technologies we have decided upon. 1. Our target market: Being manufacturers of our own product, our initial thought had been to supply the wholesale and retail trade. We decided against this strategy based on the following considerations: a) Margins on this product are quite slim and adding additional steps to the distribution channel, would of necessity mean the end user would be paying more. b) We wanted to maintain control of the quality of the product. In supplying in bulk to wholesaler and retailers we would be handing over the final "presentation" of our samosa to people whose skill levels in frying and general hygienic handling of foods is unknown.
